We are looking for a friendly, committed person to join our close-knit team to maintain and manage the school site. We would prefer you to have experience of a similar role in schools / estate management but many professions would have the transferrable skills that would make you a good fit for the role.  Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are looking for a friendly and committed HLTA to join our dedicated and supportive staff. You will primarily be covering classes to provide the Planning, Preparation and Assessment time for teachers but may also be asked to cover during other absences too.

You will have a background of teaching whole classes and have relevant training to Level 4. You will also be able to demonstrate that you meet all the HLTA standards.

In return we can offer you happy, confident and enthusiastic children and the support of the Watling team who make everyday a great one.

The role is part-time but we are able to offer some flexibility and are willing to accommodate preferred working hours if the school timetable allows. Full and part days will be considered although ‘mornings only’ will not be possible.

Holiday Club Manager

Watling Lower School Holiday Club operates in the school holidays offering wraparound care for children from our school and to other children who want to attend between the ages of 4 and 9.

We are looking for an experienced play leader to take on a new role as a Holiday Club Manager, planning and delivering exciting activities during the school holidays. You will have worked with children in a school or similar out-of-hours setting and have demonstrated the ability to organise and implement opportunities for both learning and enjoyment.

You will be tasked with planning the activities for each club, advertising us to the local community, managing the deployment of the holiday club staff, managing the club’s registers of children including registering new members and acting as the safeguarding lead.

Full training will be given and you will have the support of the headteacher in respect of safeguarding, behavioural and any other significant issues that arise even during the holidays.

Salary:  NJC Band 3A (Scale point 6-7): £10.57 - £10.78 an hour

Hours: 8am – 5pm Monday to Friday during school holidays + additional 10-15 planning days

Clerk to Governors

We are looking for a Clerk to Governors to work closely with our co-Chairs of the Governing Body and the Headteacher to co-ordinate the running of the Governing Body Meetings.

You will be able to provide professional advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters and will regularly attend the local authority seminars to keep up-to-date with any changes.

You will provide effective administrative support to the governing body and its committees including minute taking and convening meetings. You will manage all governing body information effectively in accordance with legal requirements and ensure that we meet all of our statutory duties.

You will need to be highly organised with a keen eye for details and have good typing skills. Experience of minute taking and meeting organisation together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills are highly desirable.

You will be clerking for 6 full governing body meetings; approximately 6 further committee meetings; and other meetings as required and will be remunerated between £100 and £120 for each meeting dependent on your experience.

Salary:  £100 - £120 depending on experience

Hours: 12 meetings a year and most meetings last between 1.5 hours and 2 hours.
